Chelsea: Fans have fond memories of the moment when mascot pranked Steven Gerrard

Plenty of Chelsea fans recalled the moment that former Liverpool captain was pranked by a young mascot in the tunnel before a game at Stamford Bridge in 2006.
The 114-cap ex-England midfielder was duped by a young mascot into shaking his hand before the kid produced the now-famous moment which has gone down in Chelsea folklore. The Blues went on to win the match with goals from William Gallas and Hernan Crespo guiding Jose Mourinho’s side to a big 2-0 victory in a season that the west London club retained the English title.
It was a period of the Premier League’s short but incredible history which saw Chelsea dominate the English top-flight, yet lots of fans on social media still had fond memories of the prank the mascot pulled on Gerrard in the tunnel.
Here’s what many Chelsea supporters had to say about the ‘iconic’ moment involving the mascot and Liverpool’s legendary captain on Twitter…
