Chelsea fans have been hitting out at the club’s development squad after they conceded a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Walsall in the Leasing.com Trophy.
Tariq Lamptey had given the young Blues an early 2-0 lead after a brace in the first ten minutes of the game.
Can a fit Antonio Rudiger break into this Chelsea side?
However, the League Two side struck back after being awarded a penalty kick in the second half. Their second goal came after a fierce strike from Wes McDonald before Dan Scarr completed the comeback with a shot from range deep into stoppage time(via Chelsea).
The result means the west London side miss out on a place in the last 16 of the tournament and will now have to focus on their league campaign.
Their next game comes in the Premier League two as the development squad host Derby County.
Fans didn’t seem to be happy with the result as they took to Twitter to lash out at the youngsters.
