Chelsea fans have been lauding club legend Didier Drogba after they were reminded of his feud with former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez.
The tweet reminded fans of Benitez’s comments after the first leg of Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final against the Blues back in 2008 where the Spanish coach insinuated the Ivory Coast international was a diver (via The Guardian).
Drogba got his revenge as he scored two goals in the second leg as the west London giants reached their first-ever final in Europe’s premier competition (via BBC).
He scored the first of his two goals with a strike from 12-yards before he ran to the dugouts and performed a knee-slide in front of the Liverpool bench.
Fans lauded their former star striker for his antics in what was a pulsating Champions League tie between the two English clubs as they took to Twitter to react.
