Chelsea: Fans love message Frank Lampard gave to players at half-time against Crystal Palace

Not being able to buy players in the summer, Frank Lampard would have been forgiven for his Chelsea side not making the top four this season. However, they’re now on the same points as Leicester who are being considered title contenders, so anything can happen.

Following that 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, they’ve now won their last six league games on the bounce and have conceded just four in the process, suggesting they’re a well-drilled outfit and not just the energetic, inexperienced team some might have predicted them to be. Lampard won the Manager of the Month Award for October, and it’s clear he’s pushing his team to continue improving, as suggested by his post-match comments in which he encouraged Tammy Abraham to aim for Harry Kane’s level.

The club’s official Twitter account posted a link to a story on their website in which Abraham details what Lampard told them to do at half-time ahead of the second period against Palace. The forward said: “At half-time the manager said we needed to stay focused, and the chances would come.”

Chelsea fans were pleased to hear of the impact their club legend had on the players at half-time and replied to the tweet to say just how happy they were to have him as their manager.
