With Asmir Begovic having left Chelsea of late, the Blues in the bar of the Transfer Tavern are wondering who on earth will replace the Bosnian stopper at Stamford Bridge.
While many of them have been discussing potential moves for big name targets, the largely imperious form of Thibaut Courtois between the sticks in west London means no huge summer deal is necessary.
Indeed, reports from the Sun claiming the Blues are keen on a move for PSG man Alphonse Areola have sparked intrigue amongst them. Antonio Conte is understood to want to make the 24-year-old his No.2 in the capital after letting Begovic join Bournemouth, with the Frenchman currently undertaking the same role in Paris.
A regular at France youth level, Areola largely operates behind Kevin Trapp in the French capital, though has impressed our resident Chelsea fans who’ve been searching up on him.
For his part, the stopper himself is understood to want a new challenge, much to the delight of the local Blues in the bar.
