With the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern still celebrating their Premier League title win, it’s fair to say they’re in good spirits.
Just days away from the FA Cup final – a game in which they could condemn rivals Arsenal to their worst season in recent memory – the Blues in the bar are absolutely delighted.
Still, reports emanating out of Spain have proved rather unwelcome today. According to Don Balon, there is growing interest in one of Stamford Bridge’s biggest stars.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly keen on a summer move for Spanish international Cesar Azpilicueta. The defender was a bastion of the Blues’s success this season, playing every minute of their league-winning campaign.
One of the most popular Chelsea players amongst the west London locals in the Tavern, the 27-year-old leaving would break the hearts of many.
Both La Liga juggernauts are understood to want a versatile defender to help round out their squads, with ‘Dave’ as he’s known in west London able to operate across the backline.
Still, Azpilicueta isn’t thought to be pushing for a move away from the club, much to the delight of the Blues in the bar.
