Chelsea fans on Twitter want Mauro Icardi after scoring the winner in the Milan Derby

Chelsea fans have increased their desire to see Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi in their club’s colours after the Argentinian scored a late winner in the Milan Derby on Sunday evening.

The 25-year-old Icardi has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but the Chelsea fans are now pushing their club to make a move for him as early as January. Alvaro Morata’s poor strike-rate since joining the Blues have left the faithful a little worried and desperate for a new striking force that the club could benefit from.

Icardi already has 113 goals to his name in 191 appearances since joining the Italian outfit in 2013 and has proven to be very close to the complete striker. The former Sampdoria man scored the equalising goal in Inter Milan’s come from behind Champions League win over Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham Hotspur last month and was a key figure in Inter’s top four finish in the Serie A last season.

Chelsea fans are hoping the addition of Icardi could provide them with the threat and aggressiveness up front that they last saw in Diego Costa.
