Chelsea: Fans react to Frank Lampard’s latest comments on player mentality

Frank Lampard has highlighted a mental issue Chelsea players urgently need to solve and many Blues fans have taken to Twitter to post their reactions to his latest press conference.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Chelsea legend stressed his team must develop a “stronger mindset” if they want to continue to compete at the top level.
Lampard refused to portion the blame onto the young squad and suggested instead that the problem is affecting the team’s performance as a whole.
“This group has young players and experienced players and you can’t be happy when you have moments when you concede like that,” said the 41-year-old.
“I don’t think it matters how young you are, it isn’t naivety, I think there is a concentration issue.”
Chelsea have conceded 2 goals in 10 minutes in their past 2 games against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and away to Bournemouth in the Premier League which implies a drop in concentration during key moments in recent games (WhoScored).
Questions concerning Chelsea’s mentality have become a bit of a recurring theme in recent years, with previous managers Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri also mentioning players’ mentality during their stints in charge at Stamford Bridge.
With fervent rumours that Lampard plans to have a major clear out and ditch several senior players in the summer including the likes of Ross Barkley and veteran wingers Willian and Pedro, this suggests Frank feels the real problem lies with the experienced players.
As expected this has proven quite a divisive topic amongst the Blues fan base. Take a look at some of the best reactions online…
The same thing said over the years, a lot of players that have been here all through that, that we need to move on

Jose, Conte, Sarri AND Lampard have mentioned the weak mentality of the players. Thats not something he can fix because the players are responsible for there own mindsets. We are 4th, half the starting lineup is injured, and we haven't signed anyone. Don't know what you expected

When it was Sarri people blamed him for his inability to motivate players, now it’s Lampard they turn a blind eye

It seems fans trusted Jose when he said then but then we didn’t fully back Conte and Sarri when they said the same.
The board have given the players a free ride with swapping mangers frequently, I think we need a long term strategy to move on from the deadwood.— Frankie G (@FrankieG1985) March 2, 2020
He complains about mentality but gave an 18 year old with 12 prem appearances totalling 418 mins, 120k per week.
