Some Chelsea fans have been welcoming the links to Lazio's Milinkovic-Savic with the club now able to sign players again.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Tribal Football), the Blues recently sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old with Frank Lampard said to be a fan. Looking at his squad, though, the Englishman is hardly short of options in midfield.

The likes of N'Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic are all currently at disposal, for example. Bearing that in mind, you could not blame anyone for suggesting that Milinkovic-Savic should not be a priority for the west London club, even with the Serbian posting some very respectable stats.

He has an average of 1.3 key passes per game in Serie A this season to go with his three goals and four assists (via WhoScored), an average only Kante can top from the above names (1.5). But add Mason Mount, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to the equation, and Chelsea really do look sorted in that department.

Nevertheless, some fans would still welcome the addition of Milinkovic-Savic, with one supporter describing him as a "beast of a midfielder". Take a look below...
