Chelsea’s army of loanees out across Europe is a subject that gets debated at length here in the Transfer Tavern with some fans of the club annoyed that so many players are moved on and forgotten about, but a fair few are happy that Andreas Christensen remains on the Blues’ books.
The eight-cap Denmark international has been away with Borussia Monchengladbach since the start of the 2015/16 season, where he has impressed.
And now BT report that the club are willing to welcome him back to London this summer with open arms when his Bundesliga spell comes to an end.
Christensen, who is currently away with his national team, is due to return to Chelsea in a few months’ time and with Antonio Conte somewhat short of centre-back options given he plays three at the back, the 20-year-old’s comeback is logical.
Gladbach supposedly want to keep the defender, who has made over 50 league outings for them, but it’s likely that the Premier League leaders will want to assess him ahead of 2017/18 at the very least.
Andreas Christensen will be a first-team regular at Chelsea next season- agree?
