‘We’re gonna win the league, we’re gonna win the league’, Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been erupting in randomly-timed chants regarding their side’s title chances this season, such is the confidence over in the Blues’ booth.
Although that is indeed the task at hand for the London club, reports from the Daily Mail suggest that the club are already weighing up summer transfer business, with Antonio Conte having big plans regarding his striker situation.
It’s understood that the Italian wants at least one top-quality centre-forward to join the club before 2017/18 kicks off, with much of the club’s strategy depending on Diego Costa’s future.
The Spaniard was aligned with a mega-money move to China during the winter, and SFR Sport in France have even claimed that Chelsea are willing to let him go for an eye-watering €150m (£129.9m) when the transfer window reopens.
Should he leave, the Daily Mail suggest that Conte may look to pursue a second striker to replace him, which will be a big task in itself considering Costa has netted 18 goals this season.
Diego Costa will not be a Chelsea player next season- agree?
