Chelsea fans are now more excited for the new season under Maurizio Sarri after Antonio Conte was finally relieved of his duties as first-team manager.

In a saga that went on for too long, Blues fans everywhere are just glad everything is finally resolved and that Chelsea can now move on and bring in some new talent in order to make a return to the Champions League spaces. One easy way to do that judging by his World Cup showing is to sign Benjamin Pavard, a player valued at £36 million according to Transfermarkt.

The 22-year-old played out of position at right-back for France and despite a hesitant start, he made the position his own by the end of the tournament and would have problem been the best right-back if it wasn't for the brilliance of Kieran Tripper's performances. He got to the World Cup all because of his wonderful league form for German outfit Stuttgart, as he played in every single minute of every single Bundesliga games in an array of positions. From his preferred centre-back slot to right-back, defensive midfield and even playing as a right-midfielder on two occasions.

Chelsea and in fact many other teams don't necessarily have such a versatile player like Benjamin Pavard, so he could be a wanted man for the rest of the transfer window. His World Cup form suggested that even at the age of 22, there is a lot to come from Pavard and should Chelsea try and capture him now, they could have a real star on their hands.
