Chelsea in huge Premier League enquiry to address Conte’s biggest issue

After priding themselves on their defensive solidity so much over the years, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern do not quite know what to make of the current incarnation of their leaky backline.

Antonio Conte is widely regarded as one of the best organisers in the European game, though even the thoughtful Italian can’t help the Blues right now.

With Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Branislav Ivanovic all failing to perform so far, the former Italy coach is reportedly keen on a shock Premier League raid.

According to the Daily Mirror, the West London giants are lining up a £25m move for Burnley defender Michael Keane as a replacement for John Terry.

The 23-year-old has been mightily impressive for the Clarets since moving to Lancashire from Manchester United.

Premier League champions Leicester City made attempts to lure the England U21 international to the King Power this summer, though were rebuffed all the way.

Top brass at Stamford Bridge are believed to have made an enquiry for the defender, though Sean Dyche’s side are said to be readying a huge new deal to keep him at Turf Moor.
