Chelsea in line to offload gifted star amid Conte overhaul

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are entirely divided by a certain Cesc Fabregas.

Magnificent on his day, the World Cup winner can’t seem to get a game under Antonio Conte this season.

Clearly one of the most gifted midfielders in the Premier League, the 29-year-old’s nightmare last season looks like causing a grim hangover for the Spaniard.

Now, reports from Italy have sparked further debate.

According to Calcio Mercato Webboth the Blues and AC Milan have reached a verbal agreement for the loan of the former Arsenal skipper.

It is understood that the Rossoneri will shell out around £2.5m to take him on loan following their recent backing by wealthy Chinese investors.

The deal could well be completed by January, with the Stamford Bridge goers not quite sure what to make of his potential departure.

Having played a huge role in their Premier League title win under Jose Mourinho, his fall from grace has been rapid over recent months.

Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern thinks it’d be a major shock to see the midfielder depart Stamford Bridge in January, but thinks ultimately it could be a beneficial move for all parties involved!

Can Fabregas still offer something to Chelsea? Let us know below….
