Chelsea keeping £36m-rated man would be like signing a new player this summer

The Chelsea fans within the Transfer Tavern are hoping that a good transfer window will allow the club to reclaim its status at the top of the Premier League.

It started bad with a loss to Burnley in the first game of the season, and it looks likely that the Blues will miss out on the top four after a string of lacklustre performances. With two consecutive poor transfer windows, Chelsea are really needing to spend big and wisely this summer if they want to compete with rivals for the Premier League trophy once again.

One player who is already a Chelsea player is Michy Batshuayi, who is valued at £36.00 million on Transfermarkt. The Belgian international has been on-loan with Borussia Dortmund since January and apart from suffering an injury recently, Batshuayi had scored 7 goals in 10 Bundesliga appearances, an impressive record that should make the west London giants think twice about letting him leave permanently.

Since his move to Stamford Bridge in 2016 for £35 million, Batshuayi has mainly been reduced to the bench as Antonio Conte saw Diego Costa and this season, Alvaro Morata as better options. After forward struggles this season for Chelsea, a good solution to saving money but also having a top striker is to utilise Michy Batshuayi. The Belgian man has never been given a real chance at Stamford Bridge and that should most defiantly change next season.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Chelsea fans are well and truly fed up with Alvaro Morata and have always wondered why Michy Batshuayi wasn’t given an opportunity to impress. If he can add to his terrific Borussia Dortmund form, then Batshuayi would be a great asset for Chelsea.
