The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have had more than their fair share to talk about today, in fact it’s all that the bar staff have been hearing, first there was this striker, then that one and now, guess what, there’s another.
According to reports from Le 10 Sport in France (via The Independent), Chelsea have lodged a €50m bid for Paris Saint Germain striker, Edinson Cavani.
Despite having already seen Belgian striker, Michy Batshuayi arrive through the doors, Blues’ boss Antonio Conte appears to have an insatiable urge to spend big on another forward, having also been linked with moves for Alvaro Morata and former Chelsea man, Romelu Lukaku.
The Uruguayan international is now that main man at PSG, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic having moved to Man United at the end of his contract, which would seem an appealing role for the 29-year-old, however our Landlord reckons that, at his age, a move to the Premier League may seem too good to turn down.
Come back to the bar in about 15 minutes and I’m sure we’ll have found another striker on Conte’s wishlist.
Chelsea fans, we want to hear from you! What do you make of the apparently desperate chase for another striker whilst Diego Costa’s future is up in the air? Let us know below…
