Antonio Conte may well have thrilled the baying Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern through his tactical masterclasses during EURO 2016, though there’s little doubt the Italian will be judged on his signings right away.
Well, good news for the Blues then.
That’s because, one of the locals has spotted reports emanating out of Spain, that the West Londoners are ready to spend huge money to replace Diego Costa this summer.
The controversial Spaniard has been strongly linked with a move back to Atletico Madrid after a frustrating second campaign in England.
Now, according to AS, the club have identified Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain as a potential replacement.
Expensive he may well be, though the 28-year old proved prolific last term by notching a wonderful 36 goals in 35 games for the Serie A giants.
Is Higuain really worth £78m?!
