Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are in need of some good news. Their summer transfer business could be set to get underway as they look to challenge for the Premier League title again next season.
The Blues are already making moves ahead of the summer transfer window with reports in Portugal suggesting they will swoop for highly-rated FC Stal midfielder Orest Kuzyk. Kuzyk is a product of the Dynamo Kyiv youth academy and joined his current club in 2016 after being released.
The Ukrainian is regarded as one of the country’s hottest prospects and has represented his country at youth level, scoring one goal in five appearances for the U21’s. The 22-year-old has made 25 appearances, scoring five goals for FC Stal who are languishing near the bottom of the table in the Ukrainian Premier League.
According to O Jogo, Chelsea are likely to face competition from both Benfica and Porto for his signature and could loan the youngster back to his current club which could give them an edge in negotiations. Kuzyk would be regarded as a signing for the future and can play through the middle or out wide and the punters propping up our bar would like to see the club plan for the future.
It’s likely Chelsea’s transfer business will not get underway until the future of Antonio Conte is resolved.
