Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a quiet day on the transfer front but, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via tuttomercatoweb,) a deal could still happen.
The Blues are looking forward to playing Liverpool tonight in a cracking looking clash at Anfield but it could just be that they are busy away from the pitch too.
And it’s certainly an odd sounding deal as the Blues appear to be moving away from a move for Inter Milan’s Jonathan Biabiany and instead targeting QPR’s Pawel Wszolek who is on loan from Hellas Verona.
It wasn’t just our Chelsea fans that nearly fell off their bar stools when they first read this news whilst our landlord, who thought he’d seen it all, even had to take a second look.
The midfielder has hardly set the Championship on fire for the Loftus Road side this season with them looking unlikely to achieve much in the league this year.
Indeed, it would mark an incredibly strange move on the Blues’ behalf and our local Chelsea fans are fascinated to see what happens next.
