Tammy Abrahamâs goal against Aston Villa on Wednesday was his 11th in the Premier League this season, and heâs proving why Frank Lampard is right to trust him as Chelseaâs number one striker. Heâs started 13 of the Blues' 15 games so far this season, leaving 33-year-old Olivier Giroud to make just four appearances.
WhoScored notes he's joint top for assists in the whole squad, with three, and he takes the most shots per game too, 3.2, proving heâs got the confidence required to perform at the top level. Heâs second in the leagueâs top scorers chart, behind Jamie Vardy who now has 14 to his name, so at the age of just 22, it seems the only way is up for the youngster.
After the game, Abraham spoke to Cheslea TV and said: âIâm over the moon every time I score. Scoring goals for my childhood club thatâve grown up loving and that Iâve always wanted to play for, you know, you canât ask for moreâ (quotes from clip). Chelseaâs official Twitter account posted the interview clip on their page, with the caption âone of our ownâ, and fans were quick to reply and show their love for their star striker.
