Tammy Abraham’s goal against Aston Villa on Wednesday was his 11th in the Premier League this season, and he’s proving why Frank Lampard is right to trust him as Chelsea’s number one striker. He’s started 13 of the Blues' 15 games so far this season, leaving 33-year-old Olivier Giroud to make just four appearances.

WhoScored notes he's joint top for assists in the whole squad, with three, and he takes the most shots per game too, 3.2, proving he’s got the confidence required to perform at the top level. He’s second in the league’s top scorers chart, behind Jamie Vardy who now has 14 to his name, so at the age of just 22, it seems the only way is up for the youngster.

After the game, Abraham spoke to Cheslea TV and said: “I’m over the moon every time I score. Scoring goals for my childhood club that’ve grown up loving and that I’ve always wanted to play for, you know, you can’t ask for more” (quotes from clip). Chelsea’s official Twitter account posted the interview clip on their page, with the caption ‘one of our own’, and fans were quick to reply and show their love for their star striker.
