Chelsea locked in talks with Real Madrid over stunning stalwart defender deal

With Antonio Conte strutting his stuff with Italy at Euro 2016, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been waxing poetic at his tantalising tactical nous.

Still, there’s few conversations more suited to the summer than ones centring around blockbuster transfer rumours and the like.

So, the debates that sparked amongst the Blues supporters propping up the bar following reports from Spanish outlet AS were particularly interesting.

According to the report, the West London giants are in talks with Real Madrid over the notion of bringing defender Nacho to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Spanish international has progressed through the youth ranks at the Santiago Bernabeu and boasts an almost unblemished injury record, as well as the ability to operate pretty much anywhere in the backline.

Those in the Spanish capital are said to be cold on the idea of allowing the 26-year old leave Los Blancos, though the Premier League titans are understood to have enquired none the less.

Roma and Villarreal are also thought to retain an interest in the player, who has won two Champions League during his lengthy stint with Los Blancos.

How many signing does Conte need to make at Chelsea to win the league?
