Chelsea look to have made transfer breakthrough after club grant permission

Ahead of their crunch clash with Southampton at Stamford Bridge later on this evening, the Chelsea fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have been handed some good news.

While the Blues in the bar are largely confident of seeing Antonio Conte’s side claim a victory tonight, reports in the Daily Mirror have at least taken their minds off the pressures of title battle a little.

They claim the club have been allowed to take AFC Wimbledon winger Toyosi Olusanya on trial after a series of impressive performances this season. The 19-year-old is understood to have attracted interest from both the Blues and Manchester City, though those from west London look to have drawn first blood.

With Chelsea preparing to redevelop their home at great expense, the fans in the Tavern believe the club should look to burgeoning youth prospects to help try and build a competitive team during that process, so this is good news.

Despite making just one first-team appearance for the Dons this year, Chelsea are understood to have asked to take Olusanya on loan after starring against them in the FA Youth Cup and look to have made a breakthrough.
