Chelsea man eyed up for lucrative January move as Conte reshuffles

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern feel on top of the world under the stewardship of Antonio Conte right now as their beloved Blues sit atop the Premier League.

Ever since the Italian did some tactical tinkering to his team’s setup, they’ve looked like championship material and, for once, the team looks genuinely settled at Stamford Bridge.

Still, one man who cannot get a look-in is a stalwart of west London, Mr John Obi Mikel.

Having played for the club over 10 years now, the Nigerian is yet to feature under the former Italy and Juventus coach and is out of contract at the end of the campaign.

So, the fans in the Transfer Tavern are quite happy to read reports from the Daily Mirror.

They’ve revealed former Chelsea boss Andre-Villas Boas is keen on luring the 30-year-old to Shanghai SIPG, where he has recently taken over as manager.

As popular as Mikel is amongst the fans propping up the bar, the notion of selling him for relatively big money while they can is looking like a popular one for them.

Ligue 1 side Marseille are believed to be keen too, on a man who has won every trophy he can with the club, without ever really establishing himself in the first-team.

Chelsea fans, would you miss Mikel? Let us know below…
