There isn’t much to moan about at Chelsea right now, considering the nature of their season under Antonio Conte, as the Blues sit proudly atop the Premier League right now.
Having flopped so badly last term, the west London giants look like champions-in-waiting even at this reasonably early stage of the campaign, despite the fact there’s still an awful lot of football to be played. So, as you can well imagine, the Blues in the bar are in good spirits indeed.
Still, reports from the Sun have caused concern amongst them somewhat. They claim Stamford Bridge striker Dominic Solanke os gearing up for a shock summer move to Liverpool, as his time in SW6 draws to a close. While the route into the first-team has been a difficult one for young Chelsea stars to tread over the years, Conte seems to have opened the door somewhat, though the forward is still struggling.
A hugely talented marksman at youth level, the England U20 international is believed to have told friends he’s set to move to Anfield upon the expiration of his deal with Chelsea, much to the delight of the Reds in the bar. Celtic are understood to have been keen, though the Merseyside titans look to have pipped old coach Brendan Rodgers.
Solanke’s move could cost up to £8m in compensation, as Liverpool found out themselves with Danny Ings, though our Kopites in the Tavern are delighted to have seemingly put one over on Chelsea.
How far can Solanke go in the game? Let us know below…
