News has made it’s way to the bar here in the Football Transfer Tavern today that has showed our Chelsea punters just how determined their new boss Antonio Conte is to get his own way this season.
Reports from Spanish newspaper, Marca (via Sport Witness) are claiming that the Italian boss is hot on the tails of former Juventus striker, Alvaro Morata.
According to Marca the former Italian national manager is calling the Real Madrid striker ‘almost daily’ and that the Blues have tabled an offer of €6om (around £50m) for the Spaniard.
The 23-year-old scored 12 goals in all competitions for Juventus last season prompting Madrid to act on the £25.5m buy back clause in the deal that took the striker to Serie A.
However, even though he has just returned to the European champions, his future is still up in the air as the move could just be seen as a business deal for the Galacticos, looking to make a significant profit, selling the Spanish international on immediately.
Chelsea fans, we want to hear from you! How encouraging is it to see Conte chasing Morata in this manor? Is he worth the £50m reportedly offered up? Let us know below…
