Much has been made about Chelsea’s relatively quiet window thus far by those propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern.
Few would doubt the fact that Antonio Conte has a mightily impressive starting XI, though the options available to him outside of that aren’t exactly vast.
With that in mind, reports from the Daily Telegraph have gone down well today. They claim the Blues are considering a swoop for Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente, who is reportedly interested in linking up with Conte once more.
The pair worked together at Juventus and the Premier League champions are understood to be preparing a £15m offer for the World Cup winner. Having notched 15 goals last season, the former Sevilla man would be a wonderful back-up to compatriot, Alvaro Morata.
Despite his age, the 32-year-old would be a hugely popular addition amongst the Blues in our bar.
Llorente would help replace Diego Costa, while giving Chelsea an option proven in the Premier League. By signing him, they could bed Morata in while he makes his own adjustment, helping take the pressure off their club-record man.
