Chelsea open talks with Serie A titans over €15m keeper deal, potential Courtois replacement

With Chelsea’s dreadful season slowly fading into memory and attentions turned to what promises to be an exciting summer at Stamford Bridge.

Naturally, the Blues are linked with all manner of players from around the globe, though after such a miserable season, some of their biggest stars have been linked with move away.

With that in mind, they have identified Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic as a potential replacement for Thibaut Courtois this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Gazzetta World).

While the Belgian stopper is undoubtedly one of the best in his position in the European game, he has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been mooted as potential landing spots for the 23-year old over the next few months.

It is claimed that while a delegation from the Nerazzurri was in England to discuss a double deal with Manchester City for Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta, talks over the Slovenian stopper did occur with the West London giants.

The Serie A titans are believed to holding out for around for a fee of around €15m in order to tempt the 31-year old away from the San Siro.

Would Handanovic be a huge step down for Chelsea?
