Chelsea open to shock Diego Costa sale, mammoth conditions set

Even amongst the Chelsea fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern, the name Diego Costa will prove almost entirely divisive.

The Spaniard is undoubtedly one of the best forwards in the Premier League when in full flow, though his second season with the Blues proved to be far more difficult.

Atletico Madrid have been linked with an emotional move for the 27-year old, in an attempt to lure him back to the club where he made his name.

While new Stamford Bridge chief Antonio Conte is reportedly eager to keep a hold of the La Roja ace, he could in fact be open to the idea of a sale. On one condition.

According to notable journalist Kristof Terreur, the West London titans will consider selling up shop ONLY when they find a suitable replacement.

Both Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku have been linked with huge moves to the club, who have already signed £33m Michy Batshuayi in a bid to bolster their attack.

A bid for the former is understood to have snubbed by Real Madrid, though Terreur suggests there is something to the reported bid for the latter.

The Belgian has been linked with a monumental £65m move back to the club he left in 2014, after notching an impressive 25 goals for Everton last term.
