With the international break finally coming to an end, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are waxing poetic about the impact of Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
While many of the drinkers are still struggling to get their heads around the return of David Luiz, reports from the Daily Mail have given the West London locals something to think about.
They claim Conte is casting his eyes over Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson and Burnley’s Michael Keane as potential replacements for John Terry.
The latter has one year on his deal left at the club and it is unclear just how big a role he will play under the Italian going forward.
That being said, he is understood to be weighing up moves for the Premier League new boys as they look to keep within British quota rules.
Gibson is the nephew of Boro chairman Steve, and he along with Keane, are said to be on the cusp of breaking into the senior England squad.
Both are thought to be earning rave reviews from the club’s scouting network as Chelsea gear up for the post-Terry era.
Who should be the man to replace Terry? Let us know below…
