Chelsea registered their first victory of the campaign last week after narrowly leaving Carrow Road with all three points thanks to, once again, the Blues’ academy graduates.
Frank Lampard’s first win as Chelsea manager was under threat throughout the game, but goals from youngsters Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham ensured the Stamford Bridge legend captured all three points.
Unfortunately for Lampard, he has many injury issues to contend with which may force the changes for the visit of Sheffield United.
So, how will Chelsea line-up for the fixture against the Blades today?
With Antonio Rudiger lacking match fitness, Kurt Zouma should keep his spot alongside Andreas Christensen. Neither of the young centre-backs have looked particularly promising thus far given the number of goals conceded, but injuries and lack of options force them both in.
Mateo Kovacic put in one of his best performances in a Chelsea shirt against Norwich, earning him an 8/10 (as per the Express). Jorginho has averaged 2.3 tackles and 2.3 interceptions per game thus far [WhoScored.com], and with N’Golo Kante injured, the Italian should start.
Ross Barkley bagged three goals and five assists in the league last year and he still continues to be a creative outlet for Chelsea with his average of three key passes per game, so does seem to have a natural role.
Up top, Christian Pulisic may not have pulled up trees thus far in the Premier League, but with Pedro out injured, the ex-Dortmund man should keep Willian out the side based on his one assist so far and his impressive performance in the Super Cup three weeks ago.
Mason Mount limped out Chelsea 3-2 victory over the Canaries, but Frank Lampard confirmed he is fit to play against Sheffield United. The youngster has bagged 50% of the Blues’ goals so far (2), with his compatriot Tammy Abraham bagging the other 50% after his double against Norwich.
