Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed a blistering campaign so far this season but they’ve expressed concern at one rumour doing the rounds, which suggests a summer signing could be used to secure a new striker.
The Guardian reports that Chelsea want Swansea City’s Fernando Llorente at Stamford Bridge to provide competition to Diego Costa, and Gianluca Di Marzio adds that the Blues are prepared to offer Michy Batshuayi as part of a deal.
The former Marseille striker has struggled to impress at Stamford Bridge since moving to West London from French football in the summer and yesterday’s clash with Peterborough, where the Belgian found the net in a 4-1 victory, was only his third start of the season in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Fernando Llorente has started to make a positive contribution in South Wales as the Spanish World Cup winner has netted crucial goals in recent weeks against Crystal Palace and Sunderland, taking his tally to six goals in 19 appearances.
Whether the 31-year-old would be a decent addition to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side is debatable though and many punters in the bar believe the Blues are better off sticking with Batshuayi.
Our regular Chelsea supporting punters by the jukebox here in the Tavern think that it would be mental to swap Batshuayi for Llorente, and hopes that Conte doesn’t execute this bizarre swap deal.
Would swapping Batshuayi for Llorente be a good swap for both clubs? Let us know in the comments below!Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
