Chelsea reject Fulham as they look to re-sign their former keeper

Mark SchwarzerChelsea fans are glad to hear in the Football Transfer Tavern that they have rejected a shock bid from Championship strugglers Fulham for their third choice goalkeeper.

According to The Express, Jose Mourinho declined a move from Fulham as they looked to re-sign their former keeper Mark Schwarzer.

The Australian is yet to feature this season for the Blues and it could have been a stroke of genius from their London rivals to draft him in on emergency loan as they have struggled so far in the Championship.

Some punters in the Tavern were shocked that the move was turned down, as he is third in the pecking order to Thibaut Courtoise and Petr Cech.

Although it is thought that with this recent rejection it is clear that Schwarzer still has a future at Stamford Bridge with Mourinho looking to offload the out of favour Cech.

Cech has been linked with a move away from Chelsea in the Football Transfer Tavern ever since he lost his place to Courtoise.

And it seems that the Blues legend is also realistically looking at where his future may end up, if he is unable to win his position back before January.

He said: “I have not spoken to anyone but I think they know me well enough at the club to know that the situation is definitely not the way I would imagine.

“With the Euros [in 2016] and the national team in mind, there is no time for me to sit on the bench and not to play.

“If the situation will not start to improve for me, then I will want to solve it.”
