Chelsea reportedly remain keen on big move for Real Madrid striker

After watching their side extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are really quite happy about the nature of life right now.

While the Blues weren’t overly active in the transfer market, remaining quiet on Deadline Day, our west London locals remain convinced Antonio Conte will return the Premier League title to Stamford Bridge with what he’s got, so reports from Goal have gone down a storm today.

They claim the charismatic Italian coach retains an interest in Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, reportedly getting into contact with him over the course of BOTH the summer and winter windows just gone. The Spaniard has been strongly linked with both the Blues and rivals Arsenal over the last few months, despite the fact Los Blancos only recently brought him back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

He’s largely been used as an impact substitute by the Champions League winner since and Conte is believed to have contacted him to explain his interest should he grow frustrated in the Spanish capital.

With Diego Costa linked with a summer move away, those from SW6 are very hopeful a deal can be done ahead of next term.

Would Morata be a good replacement for his compatriot? Let us know below…
