For the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, this morning represents a throwback to their attempts to sign Neymar a number of years ago.
A highly rated Brazilian talent who the Blues make a huge bid for, only to see their attempts fail.
So, reports from Mundo Deportivo claiming the club could again miss out on a brilliant Brazilian have come as bad news for our West London locals.
They suggest that Barcelona technical director Robert Fernandez has travelled to South America in order to tie up a deal with Santos over 19-year old forward Gabriel Barbosa.
The forward is believed to have been the subject of a €30m bid from the Stamford Bridge giants, though a clause between the Blaugrana and Santos following the controversial Neymar deal reportedly gives them first option.
Arsenal are also said to have run the rule over the Selecao hopeful, though the La Liga champions could wrap up a deal imminently.
Is Barbosa worth the hype? Let us know below…
