Chelsea have been handed a huge boost, with the news that midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is reportedly just 4-6 weeks away from returning from injury, according to Sky Sports via the Sun.
The England international has been sidelined since May after rupturing his Achilles in a friendly against New England Revolution, just a week before the Blues’ Europa League final against Arsenal in Baku.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the 23-year-old has set a date for his return to first-team training, having yet to feature for the west Londoners under new boss Frank Lampard.

Having established himself in the first-team at Stamford Bridge last season under Maurizio Sarri, Loftus-Cheek scored ten goals in 40 appearances.
Despite Loftus-Cheek missing the entirety of Chelsea’s pre-season, he was handed a brand new contract by the club in July, proving just how much faith the Blues have in their robust ball-playing midfielder. Indeed, the 23-year-old finished behind only Eden Hazard in terms of dribbles per game last season (1.7 via WhoScored) and that stat would make him the second-most attacking midfielder in the side this season, potentially helping the club score more goals.
Having a player of Loftus-Cheek’s quality available to manager Frank Lampard will obviously help Chelsea as they look to obtain another top-four finish this season judging by last season’s stats. Indeed, the boss himself spoke of the player’s versatility when writing in a BBC column last year (via the Daily Star) stating: ‘he can do everything – on paper he does not have a weakness.”
