Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are enjoying their ale and discussing the future, amid reports claiming another youngster has joined the west London club.

The Blues boast one of the best academy set-ups in England and have racked up a whole host of trophies since 2010, including five FA Youth Cups, a Premier Reserve League title, three Southern Professional Development League titles and two UEFA Youth League titles.

Academy graduates Ola Aina, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathaniel Chalobah have featured for the first team this season - although few have been able to truly make their mark at senior level since captain John Terry made his Blues debut in the last millennium.

Nonetheless, the Tavern's Chelsea patrons are still excited by news of the club signing Dorking schoolboy Freddy Bernal, who will join their U9s squad - as reported by the Surrey Mirror.

The youngster, who attends Weald School, was reportedly selected from hundreds to join the club, following a spate of scouting missions and trials - suggesting he has a bright future.

Chelsea appear set to clinch a fifth Premier League title this season, currently ten points clear at the top of the table. They'll be looking to extend that margin when they face London rivals Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
