Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are growing concerned by the lack of movement from their club in the search for a new manager and they’ve slammed their glasses down in frustration, with it reported one target could now become unavailable.
Whilst Antonio Conte remains the favourite to take charge at Stamford Bridge, no confirmation has been made as of yet- and any problems there could leave Chelsea shorthanded, as another leading candidate is set for a job elsewhere.
Sky Sports sources are reporting that South American giants Boca Juniors are preparing for talks with former Chile boss Jorge Sampaoli, who was nominated for FIFA’s prestigious Coach of the Year award after leading the national side to Copa America success.
Born in Argentina, Sampaoli left his position with Chile earlier this year and Boca Juniors are looking for a new boss after sacking Rodolfo Arruabarrena at the weekend, ahead of a massive derby with rivals River Plate.
Whilst our landlord accepts Sampaoli isn’t the immediate first-choice for Chelsea, he is concerned by the lack of developments in their managerial search and he’s seen their shortlist trim significantly in recent weeks.
