Chelsea fans will be hoping the club can keep hold of star man Eden Hazard when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

The Belgian has been back to his brilliant best under the leadership of Maurizio Sarri but his future at the club remains uncertain. Hazard has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid who are known to be huge admirers of the winger. There were suggestions that Hazard could have been Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement but the forward ultimately stayed put at Stamford Bridge.

After an inconsistent season so far, Madrid are expected to spend big in the summer and Hazard could once again top their shortlist. His departure would be a massive blow to the Blues but his departure would command a huge transfer fee. No player is irreplaceable and Sarri should move quickly to source his replacement.

One man who could fill the void is Barcelona maestro – Philippe Coutinho. Valued at £126m by Transfermarkt, the Brazilian is no stranger to the Premier League having spent five years at Liverpool after leaving Inter Milan in 2013. Coutinho’s magic made him a huge fan favourite at Anfield and the playmaker developed into one of the league’s best under Jurgen Klopp’s tutelage. Barcelona came calling last January, paying £120m to lure him back to Spain.

Despite making an impressive start to life at the club, Coutinho’s second season hasn’t gone to plan and there are suggestions that the Brazil international could depart. Capable on the left wing or through the middle, his arrival would help replace the star quality lost if Hazard decides to depart. Coutinho has the quality to win games by himself thanks to his expert long-range shooting.

The 26-year-old is already proven in England meaning adapting to the league would be no problem. Now approaching the prime of his career, bringing him back to the Premier League would be an astute move.
