Chelsea should pick up on Liverpool’s mistake and target £31.5m-rated forward

Chelsea fans within the Transfer Tavern are well aware of the below-par season their team has had and this isn’t acceptable by the Blues’ standards. The Stamford Bridge side will hope to see Roman Abramovich plough more money into the club this summer so they can return to the helm of English football.

Their season started poorly with a loss to Burnley and although Chelsea recovered in form, it hasn’t been enough to cement a place in the top four. With Champions League the ultimate aim next season, the Blues should be splashing the cash on players good enough to make this happen.

Us punters have been discussing the transfer of the man who left Liverpool for a reported £2 million in 2015, only to become a superstar at AC Milan. This, of course, is Suso, a player now valued at £31.50 million on Transfermarkt. The 24-year-old has again been one of Milan’s top performers this season, having scored 8 goals and assisting his teammates on 12 occasions in 40 appearances so far this season.

Suso can be deployed on either wing or as a second striker in behind the front man. No one could quite believe the rise in form he has had since arriving in the Serie A but now the top clubs are now surely forming an orderly queue for his signature.

Landlords verdict:

Suso was a complete flop at Liverpool but this isn’t the first time a player has left the Premier League to endure a successful career elsewhere, ask Chelsea that! The Blues may struggle to keep players such as Eden Hazard and Willian without Champions League football so the signing of Suso seems imperative if the Blues still want to target success.
