Chelsea stalwart offered surprise olive branch amid Conte’s new era

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are still hopeful their side can win the title, despite a blip against bitter rivals Tottenham, and are celebrating that fact both often and loudly while parked up at the bar.

It’s been a weird season at Stamford Bridge, where after a strong start, the Blues were trounced by both Liverpool and Arsenal before embarking on a 13-match unbeaten run under Antonio Conte.

Clearly, the club are moving forward with the Italian at the helm, though reports from the Daily Telegraph have caused a few our west London locals to shed a tear or two.

They claim Bournemouth have enquired about an ambitious loan move for Blues bastion John Terry, having lost Nathan Ake following Chelsea’s recalling of the Dutchman.

Sent off upon his return to the side, the former England skipper has barely featured since Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation and is coming to the end of his deal in SW6.

Still, it’s thought the 36-year-old wants to extend his playing career in the Premier League and the Cherries are understood to be keen on offering him a surprise olive branch.

Eddie Howe landed Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere on loan earlier this season and the previously crocked maestro has found his form again on the south coast as the Cherries continually improve and impress in equal measure.

Will Terry stick around at Chelsea? Let us know below…
