Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern face a big summer ahead of them, as many are concerned that numerous big players could leave Stamford Bridge.
It seems almost inevitable that Diego Costa will be one of those making an exit from West London and the Sun reports he will reject an offer from Juventus, as he doesn’t want to play second-fiddle to Argentine ace Gonzalo Higuain.
Costa, currently on the worst scoring run of his Chelsea career having not found the back of the net in five games, pushed for a move last summer and had his head turned in January by interest from China. However, it appears he won’t be moving to the Far East.
Reports from The Sun add Costa is desperate to return to Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone’s side could welcome him back with open arms, especially as question marks continue to surround the future of star-man Antoine Griezmann.
Our landlord believes Costa could spark a transfer merry go round this summer, with his move to Atletico allowing Griezmann to move to Manchester United, whilst opening the door for the Blues to land Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
The Blues supporters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern have come to terms with this whole Costa saga, and think it’s just best if he departs Stamford Bridge for pastures new.
