Chelsea suffer blow in chase for world-class, title-winning midfielder

Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see their club lift the Premier League trophy this season but, as per Sport Bild, Arturo Vidal won’t be part of any defence next year.

The Blues have been absolutely flying this season and will surely lift the trophy before too long before embarking on a return to the Champions League and trying to defend their crown.

Last time they did that it went wrong horribly, of course, and so summer signings are going to be a must to avoid such an eventuality this time around.

The Chilean Vidal has been linked, too, with the club by The Sun but it now appears that any deal is pretty dead in the water.

The Bundesliga champion said:

“They are only rumours that come about quickly.

“But there’s no reason for me to leave Bayern. I wear this jersey with pride.

“I feel good, my wife feels good and the children are happy.

“And I still have big goals in Munich.”

This will surely come as a blow to Antonio Conte and his side who must be keen to really tighten their grip on English football.

No-one’s really got near them this season and if they could add Vidal to an already formidable midfield they’d really take some stopping on both the domestic and European stage – it looks a way off now, though.
