Still raucously debating the Leroy Fer and Gary Cahill incident over the weekend, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern need some cheering up.
While the Blues walked away from South Wales with a point, the nature of the game has left them feeling as if they were beaten.
Now, according to talkSPORT, the West London giants could be handed a further blow.
The early part of their summer window saw strong links with a move for combative Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan.
However, the Belgian international ultimately remained in the Italian capital and the report now suggests he is ready to extend his stay with I Giallorossi.
It proved relatively frustrating for the Blues, though the arrival of N’Golo Kante has helped them get over it.
The 28-year-old is understood to be happy at the Stadio Olimpico and put suggestions he could leave the Serie A titans behind him.
Though he is under contract with Roma until 2020 (per TransferMarkt), improved terms could soon find their way to the former Cagliari ace.
“A renewal? I had already decided to stay,” Nainggolan said.
“I’m happy here and this thing will work itself out.
“I think we’re both on the same page, we’ll find an agreement soon.”
Will missing out on Nainggolan come back to bite Chelsea? Let us know below…
