While much of the Transfer Tavern is excited for the emotional battle between Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United and Chelsea next season, it appears the two could be entrenched in scrap even sooner.
Though the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ is not due to commence an on-field tussle with new Blues chief Antonio Conte until 22nd October, the two hard-nosed managers could square up over a player.
According to Italian news outlet Gianluca Di Marzio, the West Londoners have expressed an interest in luring Zenit St. Petersburg defender Ezequiel Garay to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Mourinho worked with the 29-year old for a brief period while in charge of Real Madrid, though Conte is said to be aiming to push through the deal.
Where would Garay fit in better, Man United or Chelsea?
