The player has long been linked with a move away from the Toffees, who are yet again excelling under David Moyes and it seems to be Chelsea who are leading the chase. The Daily Mail claim that the £22 million buyout clause required to land the Belgium international is no problem for the club who are desperate to secure his services.
Fellaini of course has impressed more and more as each season has passed in the Premier League and is now considered to be one of the top players around. Arsenal are also sniffing around the player yet as our landlord points out, it is an awful lot of money for the Gunners to spend on a player with Arsene Wenger typically more reserved with his spending.
With The Telegraph reporting that Frank Lampard is set to leave West London in the summer, Fellaini could prove an adept replacement who, like Frank, competes admirably in the box-to-box midfield role.
Everton would be reluctant to let the player leave but if the buyout clause is triggered, the Goodison Park-based club may have little choice.
