Chelsea would ramp up pressure on title next season with signing of £54.0m-rated clinical striker

It’s been a rather disappointing season for Chelsea fans within the Transfer Tavern. Antonio Conte’s title-winning squad of last year failed to make improvements which allowed Man City to run away with their beloved trophy.

The Blues have been below par and their summer acquisitions seem to epitomize that. Alvaro Morata started well but slipped off the boil part-way through the season and Tiemoue Bakayoko, well, hasn’t been a fan favourite let’s say. As you can imagine, with big money spent on these lot, the Blues in our bar are really rather annoyed.

A way that Chelsea can restore the confidence within the fans is to bring in a world-class talent that has the ability to single-handily better Chelsea’s league position. His name is Timo Werner and he’s valued at £54.00 million on Transfermarkt. The 22-year-old plays his football for German side RB Leipzig and this season has scored 18 goals as well as assisting 7 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.

The German will be hopeful of heading to Russia as part of champions’ squad and frankly, he deserves to. Werner has exceptional pace, leaving defenders in his dust and also has the quality to finish the chances he creates for himself. Chelsea would be blessed to have attacking options such as Werner, Willian, Hazard and Morata, it would certainly increase their chances of success as well.

Landlords verdict:

Chelsea haven’t looked their usual selves this season so a bigger spending spree in the summer should allow them to rise up the table and challenge for the Premier League title. Whether Roman Abramovich will put his trust in Antonio Conte again this season is a question many have considered, but whoever has the final decision on transfers, Timo Werner is a player Chelsea must sign.
