Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern simply can’t wait for a summer transfer window in which their club should be able to boast reigning champions status.
Indeed, the Blues are well on course to claim a fifth Premier League title barring a horrendous end to the campaign, with Antonio Conte’s boys currently ten points clear at the top of the table.
But the Italian gaffer isn’t looking to rest on his laurels; according to The Guardian, Chelsea have some incredibly ambitious transfer targets lined up for the summer, not least including Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Conte is also reportedly keen to bring in a left-sided defender and is already eyeing two players perfect for the left wing-back role in his 3-4-2-1 set-up – Juventus man Alex Sandro and Bayern Munich’s David Alaba.
Sandro has consistently impressed for Conte’s former club Juventus, notching up two goals and four assists this season whilst playing in a variety of roles down the left flank, whilst Bayern Munich’s David Alaba is widely rated as a truly world-class player.
The Tavern’s Blues punters reckon signing Sanchez and one of the aforementioned left-sided options would take Chelsea to a whole new level – and could even make them the first successful defenders of the Premier League title since Manchester United in 2009.
