The Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have had a lot to celebrate this season, with Antonio Conte lifting the Premier League title in his first season at the helm, however, there is one thing the Blues fans at the bar still aren’t happy about.
While the first team are highly successful, the development squad is arguably more so there’s just one problem, the youngsters never seem to get their chance on the biggest stage.
The last player to really make their way through the ranks and establish themselves in the first team was the now departed John Terry, which says a lot about the club’s current policy.
It seems that the fans here in the bar, then, will not be happy to hear that another promising striker could be going out on loan in the new season, as opposed to getting his chance in west London.
Blues striker Bertrand Traore, who spent last season on loan with Europa League finalists Ajax, looks to be on the verge of a loan move to Lyon, after the club president revealed their interest and that talks were underway.
“We want to bring Bertrand Traore to the club,” said Jean-Michel Aulas at a press conference.
“There are advanced talks there, but many clubs are interested.
“We absolutely want to do the deal.”
Chelsea fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think Traore deserves a chance in the first team? Or is a loan move best for him at the moment? Let us know below…
