Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are excitedly looking forward to this weekend’s FA Cup final, where they’re hoping their side will clinch a double.
The Blues have already secured the Premier League title but major shake-ups are expected throughout the squad this summer, as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his ranks and keep the core of his squad intact.
One man many expect to be moving on this summer is Spanish striker Diego Costa but the latest reports suggest interest in the forward is waning, as West London Sport state Chinese outfit Tianjin Quanjian have denied making an approach.
Costa was keen to return to Atletico Madrid last summer, before being persuaded to stay at Stamford Bridge, but his head was turned once again in January amidst interest from the Chinese Super League and the huge figures they were offering.
Speculation continues to link Costa with a move to China but Tianjin issued a statement where they denied any approach has been made- the second time this year they’ve done so, after initially releasing a statement last month.
“During the past six months the club has not communicated with Diego Costa or his agent regarding his transfer to Tianjin Quanjian. We have no intention of becoming involved in any unhealthy competition and, consequently, paying a premium price.”
Our landlord believes Costa still could complete a huge u-turn and remain at Stamford Bridge, which many fans are happy about.
