The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern who have been eagerly awaiting new boss Antonio Conte’s arrival, dreaming of a ruthless Italian overhaul involving some star names, have been granted news about his rebuild.
While it may not be quite as headline grabbing as they may have thought, those in this evening are excited none the less.
According to the Guardian, the current Italy coach is ready to axe controversial goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon, in favour of bringing in his trusty lieutenant, Gianluca Spinelli, for that role.
The former has reportedly been the subject of a fallout with star ‘stopper Thibaut Courtois over his bizarre training methods.
The coach has worked under a succession of managers at Stamford Bridge, first joining under Jose Mourinho in 2007 and working closely with club legend Petr Cech, who was sold to Arsenal to make room for the 23-year old between the sticks.
Spinelli, meanwhile, is currently working within the Azzurri setup at Euro 2016 and is believed to be hot on the idea of joining his compatriot in West London.
Is Courtois worth the hassle? He seems to fall out with a lot of coaches….Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
